Laundry to Landscape

A simple way to save water, money and resources is to connect your washing machine to an irrigation drip line, the water expelled from your washing machine will water the plants in your yard.
If your not using an Energy Star washing machine, your putting 45-60 gallons of water down the drain or in the septic, when you could be using that to water the plants.
First, get an Energy Star Washing Machine, you'll save @ 20 gallons of water a load.
After you've bought your Energy Star washing Machine, connect the washer's discharge to the irrigation.
It's somewhat important that you don't use detergents high in sodium as this will change the ph of the existing soil and damage the existing plants. Boron as an additive to detergent is a no no for the environment as is bleach.
